Big news today was gold which dropped $48. I still think we are in a gold bull run and this may be a good time to buy if you've missed the move. Thats why chasing something higher is risky as we see the big drop today as everyone was talking about gold.
Markets surged out of the gate this morning after US job losses were better than expected. However markets fell throughout the day and traded flat. This tells me that the market is weak. When good fundamental news like this comes out and the market shrugs it off, that is more bearish than bullish. Looking at the markets they are still having problems breaking through to new highs. I'm not too sure what we need to act as a catalyst to move this market higher, but its gotta be better than good jobs numbers. If we break and close above the recent highs, we may see a new leg higher and some short covering that will move this market. Until then, I think we trade in this neutral range and have to be very selective in our stock picks.
